Leslie M Hicks
Dr. Hicks received her B.S. in Chemistry at Marshall University (summa cum laude), and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where she worked for Prof. Neil Kelleher. She was a Principal Investigator at the Danforth Plant Science Center prior to moving to Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2013, where she is now an Associate Professor. She is a recipient of awards including an NSF CAREER Award, Robert J. Cotter New Investigator Award (USHUPO), and the Eli Lilly Young Investigator Award. The overarching goal of her research program is to develop creative mass spectrometry-based proteomics approaches for the exquisite differentiation of biological molecules underpinning both fundamental biological research and applied bioengineering in photosynthetic organisms.
