Emøke Bendixen
Emøke Bendixen is an associate professor at Aarhus University. Her research focus on integrating genome and proteome knowledge to improve farm animal health. Projects include mapping host-pathogen interactions in pigs, cows, sheep and chicken.
She studied molecular biology at Aarhus University, and did her PhD in cell biology and medical biochemistry at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, NY,USA.
Her post doc positions were within animal physiology at Aarhus University, Denmark, and in food biochemistry at the Agricultural University of Norway. Since 1997 she has specialized in farm animal biochemistry and genetics, and since 2005 established and leads the farm animal proteome laboratory at Aarhus University.
Community service: She is one of the founding member of the Danish Proteome Society (DAPSOC), and member of its EC since 2003. She served as EC member of EuPA (2010-2017), and as its vice president from 2014-2017.
She was a member of the HUPO board of directors (2013-2015), and is the current chair of the iMOP initiative of HUPO.
