Setsuko Komatsu
Setsuko Komatsu is a professor at Fukui University of Technology, Japan. Since 1980, she employed at Meiji Pharmaceutical University and then also at Keio University School of Medicine. In this period, her research was focused on the role of protein kinase depend phosphorylation during fertilization of mammalian. She started working on plant proteomics using protein sequencer and mass spectrometry as a unit leader at the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization and a professor at the University of Tsukuba. Her main research interests are within the field of proteomics, biochemistry, and molecular biology with a special focus on signal transduction in crop under environmental stress. She is trying to improve the quality of the research related to agricultural proteomics as associate editor for Journal of Proteome Research and as section editor-in-chief for International Journal of Molecular Sciences. Furthermore, she is trying to spread for the agriculture proteomics as the president of Asia Oceania Agricultural Proteomics Organization and as council member of Japanese Proteomics Society.
