Manuela Klingler-Hoffmann
Dr Manuela Klingler-Hoffmann is passionate about making a difference to cancer patients’ lives. She uses proteomics to analyse patient-derived samples with the long-term goal to assists clinicians in their therapy decisions. She is an experienced cell biologist and biochemist with a background in biophysics and the recipient of multiple fellowships and awards, such as the 2020 Women in innovation award in the Science category. Since joining the University of South Australia in 2017, she has built a small and dedicated ovarian cancer research team. Some of them will present their work at AUS-oMicS. In collaboration with other subject experts and industry partners, she develops disruptive laboratory solutions for personalised medicine and novel sample preparation for mass spectrometry. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists and ensuring gender equity becomes a reality.
