Anne-Claude Gingras
Anne-Claude Gingras is a Canada Research Chair in Functional Proteomics, a Senior Investigator in the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute and a Professor of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto. She is also Deputy Editor for Molecular and Cellular Proteomics.
Dr. Gingras specializes in the study of protein complexes and subcellular proteome organization, combining cutting edge mass spectrometry-based approaches with modern cell and molecular biology techniques. She has developed multiple experimental and computational approaches (many through collaborative efforts) to confidently identify and quantify interaction partners for proteins of interest, and has co-developed a number of widely used software tools to assist in this process. She has applied these powerful systematic approaches to a number of protein classes (e.g. phosphatases, bromodomain-containing proteins, RNA-binding proteins) to accelerate discovery, and is ultimately interested in gaining deep biological insight into the mechanisms of disease. Her work is extremely collaborative, and she continues to be a strong advocate for data transparency and data sharing.
